NEW GLASGOW - Gertrude Frances “Gertie” D’Eon, age 79, of New Glasgow, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow and raised in Trenton she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Agnes (MacGillivray) Cameron. She was a nurse with the R.C.A.F. and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by sons: Wayne (Debbie Morris), New Glasgow; Stephen, Toronto; Brian and Joseph; daughter: Pauline (Bob), Richmond Hill, Ont.; one grandchild; brother: Donald Cameron, New Glasgow. She was predeceased by sisters: Rosie, Theresa and Pearl. Visitation 7-9 pm Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 10 am Thursday with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Cremation to follow.
