Phyllis Eileen Lawrence of Medicine Hat passed away suddenly at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at the age of 83 years. She was born in Melfort, SK, on February 27, 1926. Phyllis is survived by her five children, Sheila Levin, Shirley (Eugene) Schulz, Darrell (Marie Saucier) Lawrence, Kelly (Wanda) Lawrence and Keith (Rachelle) Lawrence; 10 grandchildren, Daniel and Janet Levin, Erin and Andrea Schulz, Ryan (Alison) and Martinique (Jesse Hogg) Landreville, Brandy McCann, Amanda (Jeremy) Laturnus, Darren Lawrence, Charmaine and Chila Laturnus, Kirkland Lawrence; three great-grandchildren Madisyn Lawrence-Laturnus, Isabelle Landreville and Payton McCann; sisters Margaret (Avery) Hillier, Evelyn (Jack) Sutton, Bernice (Cecil) Lawrence and Lois (Clint) Tetarenko. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Percy Lawrence on October 13, 1989, and her son-in-law, David Levin on May 4, 2003. Phyllis was a devoted, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She enjoyed partaking in games, puzzles and cards with family and friends. She loved to read and travel. One of her last adventures was with her family on a Caribbean cruise in February 2009, where she especially enjoyed swimming with the dolphins. Her unique personality and unending love for life will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Phyllis’ life was held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13th Street SW, Medicine Hat, on Friday, January 15, 2010, at 10:30 A.M., with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating.
