GREENE, GEORGE WILLIAM - George died peacefully at his home in Blissfield, NB on September 7, 2012 at the age of 79. He was the son of William and Sylvie (nee Gillespie) Greene. He is survived by his loving wife, Rona; his children, Linda (Doug Hay), Grant (Norma), and Norman (Enis); and also his beloved grandchildren, Lindsay, Jodi, Leanne, Amy and Matthew. He is survived by his sisters, Marg Bamford and June Greene; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Shirley O’Donnell and brother, Gilbert Greene. George enjoyed volunteering in the community as well as playing golf, cards and darts with his many friends. He especially enjoyed working on the farm and operating the family store with his son, Grant.
A memorial service will be held at the Doaktown Legion on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11am, followed by a reception and visitation with the family until 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
