Peacefully at the Colville Manor in Souris on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, of Albertine Gallant (nee Daigle) of Souris West, age 94 years. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Bing (Alban) Gallant (2003). Survived and sadly missed by son, Maurice and his children Nicholas, Jeffery, Monique and their mother, Michelle (nee Harris) and daughter-in-law, Liana and her children Genevieve, James, Joshua, Justin and Emily. Albertine’s grandchildren will fondly remember Grandmere with memories of special songs, food, rosary prayers and a door always open to anyone in need. Her remaining sisters to whom she was like a dear mother will miss her greatly, Alma Blanchard, Moncton, N.B., Antoinette Cormier, Ottawa, Ont., Yvette Doiron, Charlottetown, Cecile (Gerge) Poirier, Grande Digue, N.B.; sisters-in-law, Gilberte Daigle, Saint John, N.B., and Clarisse Gallant, Souris. Predeceased by her cherished eldest son, George (Bing) (2002); parents, John and Elizabeth (nee Guimond) Daigle; siblings, Fr. Alyre Daigle, Eloi, Aurele, Laura Doiron, Lina LeBlanc, Sr. Maria Daigle CND, and infant sisters, Rita and Regina. Albertine had many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Resting at the Dingwell Funeral Home, Souris, for visiting hours on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral to be held Saturday morning from St. Alexis Church, Rollo Bay, with funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment later in the church cemetery.
