COLWELL, CHRISTOPHER DOUGLAS - Christopher Colwell passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on September 10, 2012, after a valiantly fought 11 month battle with leukemia. Born December 29, 1985, Chris was the beloved son of C. Dwight and Mary E. (Patrick) Colwell. After graduating with honors from FHS, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Philosophy, with a minor in music at Renaissance College (UNB). Chris worked in Bhutan as a teacher's assistant in 2006, and enjoyed the opportunity to travel. In 2008, Chris moved to Halifax to pursue his interest in music, enrolling at NSCC in 2010 and playing in several bands to broaden his musical experience. His interests also included art, painting, film-making, cooking and sculpting. His big heart won him many friends from all walks of life, and his dry sense of humour never failed to bring a smile. Chris is survived by his parents, Dwight and Mary, paternal grandparents, Laurin and Carley Colwell, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be deeply missed by all. A special thanks to the staff of the Oncology wing of the George Dumont Hospital, Extra Mural, Palliative Care of DECH, Pastor Greg Geldart, and all those who have helped us in various ways.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Brunswick Street Baptist Church on Thursday, September 13th, 2012 at 11 am with a reception following.
