Johnson, David W. - 67, Truro passed away January 14, 2010 at home. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late David A. and Gladys (MacLean) Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Doyle); sister, Cheryl Markle, Toronto; nephews and nieces, Blake Markle, Montreal, Quebec; Allyson (Robbie) Clinch, Dieppe, NB; Christopher (Tracey) Doyle, San Jose, California; Meredith (Brent) Harrison, Brookfield; brother-in-law, Ross (Sylvia) Doyle, Truro. A lifelong funeral director, David began his career with Roop’s Funeral Home in Middleton. After graduating from mortuary college in Syracuse, NY, he worked at Lindsay’s Funeral Home in Kentville. He then went on to work with Mattatall Funeral Home in Truro for a number of years, later purchasing the business along with McCulloch-Patriquin Funeral Home in Great Village. After selling these businesses, he worked with Colchester Community Funeral Home, from where he retired. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 18 at 2:00 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating.
