The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, January 16, 2010 of Mr. William V. "Bill" MacDonald of Charlottetown in his 85th year. He is survived by his double-first cousin Margaret Carroll of Alberton, P.E.I. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, being predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Rose (nee Arsenault) MacDonald, sisters Claire, Mary and Margaret and brothers, Avie, Martin and Alphonse. Bill was a laboratory technologist with the Government of P.E.I. and very devoted to his parish, serving in many ways especially as an alter server for many years. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m. then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. If so desired, memorials in Bill’s memory can be made to St. Dunstan’s Basilica Restoration Fund.
