SAWYER, MINNIE - Mrs. Minnie Annie (Wibberley) Sawyer, wife of the late William "Bill" Sawyer, of Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, formerly of Strathadam, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012, at Miramichi Senior Citizens Home at the age of 90. Born in New Sweden, Maine, Minnie was the daughter of the late Wilmot and Almeda (Wilcox) Wibberley. She was a homemaker and a member of St-Andrew's Anglican Church. She was also a past Guardian Angel for Miramichi Regional Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; her family was her life. She loved to read, knit, and laugh. She was a loyal friend and avid card player both at home and Miramichi Senior Citizens Home. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Connell (Walter) of Manitoulin Island, ON, Linda Blackmore (Ray) of South Esk and Barb Astle (Barry) of Quispamsis; her daughter-in-law, Monica Sawyer; her sons, Bill (Debbie) of Strathadam and Robert (Debbie) of Edmonton, AB; and her 13 grandchildren, Lisa Levesque, Tina Connell and Todd Connell, Angela Waye and Michael Blackmore, Amanda Jenkins and Andrea Astle, Steven Sawyer, Devin Sawyer, Keagan Sawyer and Keely (Sawyer) Lee, and Alison and Grant Sawyer. She is also survived by her 15 great-grandchildren, Sienna Levesque, Cameron, Cody and Carter Connell, Jacey and Braedan Veaudry, Kole and Austin Waye, Chelsea Carter and Chase Blackmore, Darragh, Mackenzie and Isabel Sawyer, and Mckenna and Arden Lee; three chosen special grandchildren, Seth, Cyrus and Brooke; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend (chosen daughter) Addie Coles. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Emma Russell; her son, Ted; and one grandson, Trent Blackmore.
Mrs. Minnie Sawyer is resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Highway, with visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 11am from St-Andrew's Anglican Church with Venerable Richard Steeves officiating. Burial will follow in Miramichi Cemetery. In her memory, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a memorial of one's choice would be appreciated.
