It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ambrose Colley Matthews announces his passing on Sunday, September 9th, 2012 at Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre at the age of 79. He was the son the late Alex and Ethel Matthews. He was predeceased by brother Stanley, brother-in-law Bob Bently and sister-in-law Ruby Johnstone. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 55 years, Claudine; daughter Cathy (Jory); son Mike; grandchildren: Dayna and Brett; brothers: Rex (Clara) and Don (Sheila); sister: Harriett; brother-in-law: Eric (Edna); sisters-in-law: Marie (Ray) and Georgina (Gary). A loving husband and a wonderful father, he retired from Canadian National Railway, had a passion for woodworking and relaxing at the cabin. Visitation took place on Monday, 7-9 and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home. Funeral service took place at St. James Anglican Church, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m, officiated by Rev. Hannah Dicks, interment followed at the Anglican cemetery.
