PRIEBE, Judith Elaine wife of Darrel Priebe, mother to Terris (Jen) Priebe & Tanya (Kent) Ford and grandmother to Rahimay and Rohan Priebe. Judy was born September 19, 1953, to Otto & Frieda Biech in Hodgeville, SK. She was the youngest of four children, with two older sisters, Carol (Alvin) Lautermilch, Grace (Marv) Poettcker and older brother Howard (Donna) Biech. Judy excelled academically throughout her school years and went on to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. She married Darrel on October 6, 1973, at the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church. They began their life together on a dairy farm not far from Hodgeville and farmed there until 1987, when they moved their family to Herbert, SK. Judy was cherished by her husband, and adored by her children and grandchildren. She always had time to listen to her children or play games and colour pictures with her grandchildren. Judy was a gifted nurse who truly cared for people. Her gentle and compassionate spirit touched everyone from fellow staff members to patients. During her career, she worked at the Herbert Hospital, Hodgeville Clinic, Palliser Regional Care Centre, with the majority of her career spent at the Herbert Nursing Home. Judy began her battle against cancer in 2002, and fought valiantly these past 10 years through surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy. Judy was a warrior of faith, trusted God with her life, and looked to Him for strength. She inspired and encouraged all those who knew her or even knew of her. She was taken home to heaven on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 3:45 pm. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2:00 pm from the Mennonite Brethren Church, Herbert, SK with Pastor Richard Erb officiating. Josh & Kiri Erb, Kim Fast, Curtis Heinrichs and Tamara Knight were the Worship Band for the service. Memories were shared by Tanya Ford and Jennifer Priebe. “Come to Jesus” was sung by soloist, Kim Fast. The Interment Service was held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 3:00 pm from the Herbert Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Terris Priebe, Howard Biech, Glen Priebe, Clair Priebe, Kent Ford and Marv Poettcker. In memory of Judith Priebe, donations made to the Gideons International would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
