We, the family of the late Ruth Byrne, wish to extend a sincere thank you to our friends, relatives, neighbors and co-workers who shared in our recent loss. To those who called or visited our home; attended the wake and/or funeral; sent flowers, sympathy cards, memorial cards, Mass cards and e-mails, made charitable donations and sent food items to our home your kindness and words of support are greatly appreciated. Thank you to members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing Alumnae; the honorary pallbearers ( Edward, Jeff, Greg, Melissa, Patrick and Travis); the lectors (Sister Sylvia Bellafontaine and Heather Byrne); and soloist Suzanne Gracie, who assisted with the funeral Mass and Father Leo Boone for his words of support and beautiful church service. Thank you to Father MacIntyre, Sister Cecilia Catherine and Sister Martha Eileen. Your prayers, songs and visits to Mom in the hospital were a great comfort to all of us. To the nurses of 3 West and 3 South at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex and to Dr. Cadegan, thank you for the excellent care that Mom received during stay in hospital. Your kind words, compassion and caring will never be forgotten by the family. Thank you also to the St. John’s Ladies Auxiliary for hosting the reception after the funeral Mass. A very special thank you to Cordell, Kenny and all the staff of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home for their caring and professional service. To each and everyone who helped in any way and shared our grief, May God Bless you all!
