Jantina Chapman
It is with sadness that the family of Jantina Chapman age 89 announce her passing on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Wildervank, The Netherlands on November 21, 1922, Tina was a daughter of the late Thijs and Willemtje (Dykema) Bril.
She came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. Tina was employed with the School for the Deaf in Amherst for several years.
She is survived by one daughter Margaret Heyer of Prince George, BC, four sons William (Audrey) of Amherst, Ronald of Grand Prairie, AB, Paul (Faye) of Medicine Hat, AB and Andrew (Miyuki) of Saga, Japan, 18 grandchildren Janna, Jeff, Kelly, Karen, Sarah, Katherine, Craig, Stephanie, Barry, Shane, Lindsay, John, Angie, Chance, Randy, Emily, Marisa and Ryuki, several great grandchildren, one sister Reina Bril of Haren, The Netherlands, son in law Neil Holmes as well as many extended family and good friends.
Besides her parents, Tina was predeceased by her husband Arnold, daughter Marilyn Chapman, one brother Alfred and son in law Dave Heyer.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 1 p.m. from Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Interment will take place in the Northport Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Tina's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice.
