It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Sept. 18, 2012.
Born in Sydney, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Maynard and ‘Minnie’ (MacNeil) Young.
She was a devoted member of St. Peter’s parish and enjoyed many years as a member of the choir. Evelyn often stated that her family was the most important thing in her life.
Evelyn is survived by her loving children, Clair, Linda (Nick) Davis, Colette Williams-Dooks, Robert (Danita), Ralph, Kimberly (Mark) Roberts and Brenda. Also 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Cooke.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence, four brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at St. Peter’s glebe, Ingonish Beach, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at St. Peter’s Church.
