BRIDEAU, AMILIA MARY “EMILY” - Emily Brideau of Saint John, wife of the late Cedric J. Brideau, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the St. John and St. Stephen Church Home. Born in St. Florence, QC, on December 5, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Odelle (Brideau) Fournier. Emily enjoyed playing shuffle board and darts, as well as dancing, knitting, bingo, and baking, and she also enjoyed watching the daily news. Emily is survived by her children, Marie Best, Ivan Brideau (Hazel Cook), Evelyna Brideau, and Annette Brideau (Guy), all of Saint John; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings Jonas (Jackie), Jean-Paul (Margaret), Ettienne (Alma), Velmont (Margaret), Stella (Albert), Jilberte (Eddie), and Evelyn; and several nieces and nephews. Emily was predeceased by a sister, Ida.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 12:10 PM from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
