RHINE, Joseph Ira, of Aiken, SC, Retired Minister and widower of Betty Ann Sweatte Rhine, stepped peacefully on Heaven’s shores on Friday, September 7, 2012 at his residence. Joe was 80 years old. Joe was involved in church work most of his life, being a song director at Bible Baptist Church in North Charleston and later, becoming a Pastor in Chase, BC, after serving on staff at Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, AB, Canada. Later he pastored the First Baptist church in Swift Current, SK, Canada and lastly in Goldsby, OK. He loved his Lord and loved his family with all his heart. He is survived by his four children, Debbie (Wayne) Lawson of Summerville, SC, Carter (Kathy) Rhine of New Ellenton, SC, Mary Grace (Russell) Sawatsky of Gull Lake, SK, Canada, Alan (Soi) Tran of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Private services were held by the immediate family. A Memorial service was held September 15, 2012 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, North Aiken, SC with Pastor Eric Kincaid.
