BROWN, Martha age 97 years of Shaunavon, SK passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre. She was born on June 22, 1915 in the Leitchville district northwest of Shaunavon. She received her education at Leitchville School. Martha married Elmer Brown on June 16, 1937 on her family farm. They lived and farmed in the Leitchville district for a short period of time. Martha lived in Kingston, ON with her two oldest children, Bob and Barb while Elmer took his military training before going overseas when Martha and the children returned to live in Shaunavon. Martha worked as a housekeeper for various families and was a stay at home mom. She was an active member of Shaunavon Alliance Church. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer on October 5, 1991, son Bob on October 5, 2000, son-in-law Gerry Aldag on June 29, 2011, granddaughter Gwen Zankl on December 21, 2009, her parents Harrison and Helen Herrick (Tousley), brothers Lester, Bert, Clifford and Maurice and sisters Millie and Lida. She is survived by her daughter Barb Aldag of Swift Current, two sons Brad (Linda) of Calgary, AB and Bruce (Ivy) of Grande Prairie, AB, daughter-in-law Sue Brown of Victoria, B.C., grandchildren Penny Wickham (Rick), Bill Aldag (Michelle), Michael Brown, Darren Brown, Jennifer Harrison (Chris), Crystal Brown and Bobbi-Jo Brown, grandson-in-law Brian Zankl, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one brother Ed Herrick of Lacombe, AB and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held from Shaunavon Alliance Church on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Orly Rodriguez officiating. The eulogy was presented by Brad Brown. Interment took place in Veteran’s Memorial Gardens, Hillcrest Cemetery, Shaunavon, SK. Pallbearers were Bill Aldag, Rick Wickham, Brian Zankl, Cody Aldag, Ryan Wickham and BJ Zankl.
