It is with extremely heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our son, father, brother and friend, Fraser Charles MacLellan, on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of John Joseph and Catherine (Morrison) MacLellan of Glace Bay.
In earlier years, Fraser was an avid athlete excelling in both hockey and baseball. Fraser was also a past member of the Dominion Hawks Club.
An industrial electrician by trade, Fraser worked on various construction sites in Ontario until ill health forced him to return home to Cape Breton.
Surviving, besides his parents, are daughter, Tessa, Ontario; son, Fraser, Ontario; brothers, Gerard (Lynn), Halifax; Paul, Kitchener, Ont., Ian (Alicia), Halifax; many nieces and nephews.
Fraser was predeceased by maternal grandparents, John and Martha Morrison, paternal grandparents John and Margaret MacLellan.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Eugene’s Church with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in St. Anne’s Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in St. Eugene’s Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Fraser’s name to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation.
