November 8, 1927 – September 17, 2012
Irene was born in Refuge Cove, B.C. She married Andy Hawkins and raised her family in Tahsis. They later retired to Gibsons.
Irene’s passions were her family, baking, gardening and spending time outdoors.
She is survived by her children, Doug (Betty, deceased), Candace (John), Jim (Vanessa) and Clifford (Wendy); grandchildren Kelly (Adam), Kimberly (Stefan), Stephanie, Paige, Tonya (Jason), Courtney, Travis, Garret (Amy) and Jessica; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Cole, Brody, Alexis, Grace, Blake, Preston, Charlotte and Brynn.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 29, at 2pm, at Christ the King Community Church in Gibsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C.
