MacALLISTER, ROBERT BAIRD - Robert Baird MacAllister of Fredericton, NB passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, September 24, 2012. Born in Halifax, NS, he was the only son of the late Mac and Nan MacAllister. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Masonic Lodge and the Luxor Shriner’s. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 60 as well as the Fredericton St. Andrews Society. Robert “Bob” was a graduate of Teachers College and UNB. He was a teacher and Principal with district 26 (18) for 29 years. Survived by sons, Robert of Fredericton, NB, Keith of Amherstview, Ontario and daughter, Lynn (Wayne) Joy of Comox, BC, step daughter, Dixie Mitchell of Fredericton, NB; stepson, Ed Arnold of Peterborough, ON; five grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Wednesday September 26th, from 7 to 9 pm with a Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 tribute service at 7:00 pm and Thursday, September 27th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with a Masonic service held at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Chapel on Friday, September 28th, at 2:00 pm Canon John Cathcart will officiate. Interment will be in the Red Bank Cemetery in Chipman, NB, on Saturday September 29th, at 1:00 pm. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the Luxor Shriner’s Temple Transportation Fund.
