DAIGLE, ORPHA - Orpha Daigle, 91, of Moncton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday September 24, 2012. Born on February 9, 1921 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Adélard and Amanda (Girouard) Richard. Orpha was a long time member of the CWL (Canadian Women’s League) and a dedicated volunteer with countless hours spent at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital. Her kindness and thoughtfulness were apparent to all that knew her. She will be sadly missed by her family of four daughters: Jackie O’Reilley (Pat) of Halifax, Claudette Boyd (Jim) and Cathy Williams (Paul), both of Montreal and Denise Daigle-McGrath (Pat) of Mississauga; two sons: Rob (Barb) of Fredericton and Ron of Moncton; eight grandchildren: Derek (Jill), Deron (Cathy), Erin (Jason), Kelly, Justin, Ryan, Amber and Katelyn; five great-grandchildren: Willem, Nate, Isobel, Audrey and Ella; one sister, Dorice of Moncton; three brothers: Edgar (Anne-Alice) and Henri, both of Moncton and Raymond (Irène) of Oshawa, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Yvon (2008), as well as two brothers: Alyre “Babe” and Norman.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe.
