Trenton - Eunice Ellen MacKenzie, age 89, of Egypt Road, Trenton, passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Friday, September 28, 2012 with her family by her side. Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late John and Jessie Ann (MacLean) McInnis. She was a faithful member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. She will be remembered for her love of music. She was a member of the Christ the King Parish Choir and the Celtic Chords. She loved to dance and enjoyed clogging and step dancing. She was a Eucharistic Minister and enjoyed her yearly pilgrimages to Sainte-Anne’s de Beaupre. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed Sunday dinners with her family. In her younger years, she worked in the shell finish during the Second World War and later moved to Toronto until returning to Trenton to raise a family. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Earl MacKenzie; her children: Kenny (Theresa); Laurie (Jose); Jack (Karen); Donnie (Sheila); Gary (Irene); Robert (Tanya); Cathy (Art) Hafey; Karen (Don) Creighton; sisters: Mary Henderson; Mildred Connell; Renie (Aulden) Jenkins; brothers: Sylvester (Marlene); Collie (Norma); sister-in-law: Colette McInnis; brother-in-law: Laurie McSween; special niece Shirley Van Ryswyk; grandchildren: Kenda; Lee; Joelene; Lauren; Rankin; Lisa; Tony; Mitchell; Stephanie; Natalie; Bradley; Zachary; Brandon; Jordan; Kylie; Kayla; Korey; several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Vernon, grandson David, sisters: Dorothy, Jessie and Hilda; brothers: Pete, Dougie, Donnie and Neil. She leaves behind a faithful dog, Chung and two cats, Mittens and PeeWee. She also had a special admiration for her doctor, Patricia Craig. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2 pm Monday in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
