TRUE, HERMAN LYLE - With great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Herman Lyle True, 90, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on September 28, 2012. Born in Aroostook, NB, on December 14, 1921, he was predeceased by Audrey, his loving wife of 58 years; his parents, Herbert and Beulah True; brother, Grant: sister Betty Currie; brothers in law, Otis Currie and James Montgomery and son in law, Paul Slater. He will be greatly missed by his son, Douglas (Carolyn) of Fredericton; daughters, Betty True of Fredericton, Dianne Slater of Keswick, ON, Nancy (Frank) Currie of Chateauguay, QC, Janice (George) Taylor of Fredericton, NB, and Ann True of Saint John, NB; sister, Doris Montgomery of Woodstock; grandchildren, Brent True, Michael Slater, James Bingham, Lesa Currie, Todd Currie, Rachel Ann Taylor, Lindsay Taylor, Joel Russon; great granddaughters, Holly Bingham and Allison True and several nieces and nephews. Dad worked with the Canadian Pacific Railroad in McAdam before moving to Fredericton to operate the Imperial Oil Rehab Service Station and the ByPass Esso. He was the mailman at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for 10 years before retiring. He was an avid horse racing enthusiast. He was a past Director of Wilmot Downs and was inducted into the Fredericton Raceway Hall of Fame in 2010; a past member of the Fredericton Curling Club, past member of the Elks Club and an honoured member of the the United Commercial Travelers.
Respecting Dad’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A family graveside service will take place in the Sunny Bank Cemetery.
