PHILLIPS, DORIS BEATRICE - It is with great sadness that the family of Doris Phillips, formerly of Maugerville and Rusagonis, announce her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday, September 28th, 2012 at the age of 84. Born in Fredericton on March 13th, 1928 she was the wife of the late Jackie Davidson Phillips. Doris leaves behind her children, John (Kathy) Phillips, Rev. David (Susan) Phillips of Wilmot, NS; Blaine (Mary Rogers) Phillips, Janet Phillips and Kevin Phillips; grandchildren, Melissa (Andrew) Trecartin, Jessica Phillips, Rebecca Phillips (Jason Bubar), Erin Phillips, Jill (Ben) McGuigan, Joshua Phillips, Amanda Phillips (Jon Brown) and Alyssa Phillips; great grandchildren, Isabelle and Aiden Trecartin and Jayna, Claire and Luke McGuigan; brother, Ronald (Ethel) Clark; aunt, Alice Mersereau; sisters in law, Colleen Farrell and Aletha Jones; "The 3 Musketeers", Rosemary Schriver and Harriet Stairs; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Doris was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Jackie Davidson Phillips; parents, Arthur and Lilian (Palmer) Clark. Doris was a very giving woman which was demonstrated through her faith, family and friends. She was a member of Flanders L.O.B.A. Rusagonis # 423 and in April of 2012 she became an honorary member of the Right Worshipful Grand Lodge of NB. She also belonged to the Country Cousins Seniors Group at Maugerville Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at McAdams Funeral Home on Monday, October 1st, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Christ Church, Maugerville, on Tuesday, October 2nd at 11 am with Canon Walter Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Rusagonis Baptist Cemetery.
