WIEBE: Leonard Gordon Wiebe, age 56, of Swift Current, SK passed away at Cypress Regional Hospital, Thursday, September 20, 2012. The Funeral Service was held at 11:00 am, Monday, September 24, 2012 from Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Brad Julien officiating. The organist was Arlene Olson. The Life Tribute was presented by Henry Rempel. The Ushers were Coe Slusar and Bryce Dureault. Pallbearers were Steve Janke, Troy Hunter, Chris Popowich, Larry Johnston, Ed Slusar and Ward Schultz. The interment service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Leonard was born in Altona, MB on February 16, 1956. He attended school at Wymark, O. M. Irwin and then the Swift Current Comprehensive High School. He was married to Lexie Huss on April 24, 1986 in Oahu, HI. Leonard worked at Bleackley Construction for 19 years and then became Plant Manager at Urban Forest Recycler in 1994 where he worked until his passing. He was a member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation. Leonard was an avid hunter and fisherman. He couldn't wait for opening day of fishing season in the spring and always looked forward to winter, when he could get the ice fishing shack on the lake. His favorite times were spent with family and friends. Leonard was a devoted husband and a loving father. He had a great sense of humour and always found ways to make his family laugh. He enjoyed travelling with Lexie to the U.S. to visit their daughter and taking trips to Hawaii with family. In the last several years, Leonard and Lexie enjoyed golfing together as well. He also looked forward to autumn, when he and his son would plan their goose hunting trips. Leonard was a great man who will be truly missed. Leonard is survived by his mother Tina Wiebe; wife Lexie Wiebe; daughter Amaisha Wiebe (Tanner Gronowski); son Dylan Wiebe (Tenise Sutter); sisters Debby (Henry) Rempel, Karen Wiebe and Alice (Randy) Koop; brothers Mike (Coralee) Wiebe and Mel (Shelley) Wiebe; mother-in-law Beulah Huss; in-laws Wendell Huss, Randy Huss, Twila (Ward) Schultz, Cindy (Ed) Slusar, Shelley (Larry) Johnston and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
