BAKER, LAURENCE - Laurence Daniel Baker, 86, of Killams Mills, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on September 30, 2012. Born on Herman’s Island, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Earl and Lily (Westhaver) Baker. Laurence retired from the Military in 1976. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia (nee Zinck) Baker; children: Nancy Baker (Frank) of Moncton, Danny Baker (Kim) of B.C., Jeffrey Baker (Lisa) of N.S and Holly Baker of Halifax; sister, Christine MacNeil (Hubert) of P.E.I; brothers: Gilbert Baker (Barbara) of N.S., Vincent Baker (Norma) of Toronto, Carl Baker of Toronto, and Bernard Baker (Philomene) of N.S.; grandchildren: Jared, Timothy, Thomas, Jonathan, Ryan and Rachel; great grandchildren: Isaiah and Brayden; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Laurence was predeceased by his brother Robert.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Armstrong’s Funeral Home, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7 to 9pm; the funeral service will be held on Thursday October 4, 2012 at 2:00pm with Pastor Drew Mersereau presiding at Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. A private interment will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery. Donations can be made to the First North River Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
