GOODWIN, Donna “Darlene” – 50, of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2012 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Darlene was born on September 20, 1962 to the late Gilbert and Theresa (LeBlanc) Goodwin. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley (Josh); her beloved granddaughter, Maddyx, whom she adored; sister, Mildred (Murray) Ford; brothers, Michael (Barb) Goodwin; Bill (Ann) LeBlanc; several nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert LeBlanc and John Goodwin; sister, Mary Goodwin in infancy. Darlene’s harmonica was one of her prized possessions. Boy could she play. She was taught by her brother John at the age of 12. Darlene loved beachcombing and False Harbour was her favorite place to go. Darlene leaves behind numerous great friends, many she met during the 15 years she worked on the M.V. Bluenose. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes Ltd., 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. Visitation took place on Monday, October 1 from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2 from Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Deacon Stephen Bourque officiated. Flowers welcomed. Memorial donations in Darlene’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Fund at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. The family would like to thank Dr. Marais, the nursing staff on 3E and 4E, as well as the Palliative Care staff at Yarmouth Regional Hospital for the exceptional care given to Darlene throughout her illness.
