With deep sadness we the family announce the sudden and unexpected death of Joye Amethyst (Wilson) Vickers, 47, beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Martins River, Mahone Bay, she was the daughter of George Wilson and Jean Hardy of Mahone Bay.
Joye was employed at Tim Hortons in North Sydney, where she could often be found laughing with customers and co-workers. Joye always had a smile on her face and put others first. She had a tremendous love of animals. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney.
Joye was a loving wife, daughter, sister and most importantly, mother. Her children were her world and her theirs. She will be greatly missed by her family whom she regarded the most important part of her life.
Besides her parents, Joye is survived by her husband, Peter Vickers, North Sydney; her four children, son, Jason Vickers, Alberta, Stephen Vickers (Emily), Alberta, and his twin, Amanda Vickers (Alex), Ontario, and youngest son, Matthew Vickers, North Sydney; her brother, Brian Wilson, Halifax; and sisters, Patricia Blanchard, Tanner Settlement, N.S., and Veronica Wilson, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Bobby Vickers.
Visitation for Joye will held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church with Rev. Carl Fraser officiating.
