GARRON, M. Viola – 85, Sluice Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on October 3, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born July 3, 1927 in Woodvale, she was a daughter of the late Simeon and Sophie A. (Robichaud) Bourque. Viola was a homemaker, having also worked at Harris’ Quick N’ Tasty for a number of years. She also enjoyed quilting and knitting, and she will be remembered by many as being the Avon lady. She is survived by sons, Arnold (Julie) Garron and Archie (Gail) Garron, both of Sluice Point, a daughter, Frances (Lionel) Landry, Amirault’s Hill, as well as by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Victor E. Garron, and sons, Brian Garron and Rene Garron. Visitation took place Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 8 p.m. both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held Friday, October 5 at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in Viola’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
