SWAN, OLIVE B. - Surrounded by her family, Olive Bernice Swan passed away on October 9th, 2012 at Wauklehegan Manor in McAdam, NB. Born at Harvey Station, she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Sarah (Wightman) Grieve. She was a member of the United Church of Canada and attended St. Paul’s United Church, Fredericton, NB and was a member of the UCW. She was a past matron of United Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star at Harvey. She was a graduate of the Provincial Normal School and of the University of New Brunswick and taught school until she retired in 1979. She is survived by one son, Levurn and his wife, Bonnie; two grandsons, Jeffrey (Amber) and Jerrad (Michelle); three great-grandchildren, Clark, Emme and Joseph; one nephew and one niece. She was predeceased by four sisters; one brother; one great-grandson and Levurn’s father, Ben Swan.
Following cremation, visitation will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Harvey, NB on Friday, October 12th, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with a private family service at a later time with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating, assisted by Rev. Bonnie Wynnet. Interment will be in the Harvey Settlement Cemetery. At Olive’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
