Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Providence Place in Moose Jaw. Irene at the age of 94, predeceased by her beloved husband Lloyd, after 71 years of marriage. Loving mother of Judy Schick, Ron Blenkinsop, and Kelvin Blenkinsop; cherished grandmother of 6, great-grandmother of 12, great-great grandmother of 1. She is predeceased by her brothers Matthew (Pauline), Ken (Fern), Benson, Archie and Daniel (Dorothy), by her sisters Bella (Charles) and Betty (Paul). She is survived by her sisters-in-law Mona and Dorothy Flowers. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Irene was born to Charles and Mary Flowers on Sept 5, 1918, and was raised on the family farm in the Avonlea District. She attended Crystal Hill School and Avonlea High School. She married Lloyd Blenkinsop on Nov 2, 1935 and they farmed together on the Blenkinsop family farm. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1978. They loved gardening, taking care of their home and having company over. Irene enjoyed baking, knitting, sewing and family gatherings. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Parkview Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Parkview Funeral Chapel.
