HARRIS, OLGA A. - It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Olga A. Harris of Blacks Harbour, NB. Loving wife of Rodney “Curt” Harris. Surrounded by her family, she passed peacefully with our Lord and Saviour at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB. Born at Clarence Ridge, NB on April 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Grace (Noddin) Whittier. Survived by her loving husband, Rodney “Curt” of 63 years; one chosen daughter, Gloria Thompson: three daughters; Pam (Roger) Hawkins, Connie (Philip) Lee and Noreen (Frankie) McGarrigle: three sons; Randy (Debbie) Harris, Tony (Sari) Harris and Eugene (Gale) Harris and one daughter in law Tammy (Omer) Harris; 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters in law and three brothers in law. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son Dean; two brothers Garvin and Lewis Whittier. Olga was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Olga was a long term employee of Connors Bros. Limited. She loved curling, both playing and watching and was a member of the Brunswick Curling Club in Blacks Harbour for many years. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch # 39 and a member of the Harbour View Seniors and the Calvary United Baptist Church of Blacks Harbour. Olga was friendly and loving and her family was her whole life. She enjoyed spending time at the cottage on the lake and watching game shows on TV. She enjoyed bowling and will always be remembered for her dancing the Jive with her loving husband Rodney and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her.
Resting at the Calvary United Baptist Church, Blacks Harbour NB with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Service will be held from the church on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn and Rev. Reg Ward officiating followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. In Olga’s memory, donations to the Calvary United Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
