Charlene ‘Sheri’ Rowe, 56, of Fourth Street, Glace Bay, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, Sheri was the daughter of Josephine (McNeil) Butts and the late Fred Butts.
Sheri was a former member of St. John’s Church. At one time, she was a volunteer at the BayPlex. Sheri loved angels, camping on the Mira, caring for her beloved yorkie, Bailey; but mostly, she will be remembered as a loving family lady who had a great sense of humour and a hardy laugh.
Sheri is survived by her three daughters, Cheryl Rowe (Scott), Robyn Rowe (Richie), Tanya Rowe (Richie); two brothers, Jude (Libby), Reggie (Jeri); and one sister, Cindy (Mrs. Jimmy Burns), all in Glace Bay. Sheri will be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren, Sara, Emilie, Jessica, Jeffory, Morgan, Parker, Alex, Charlee and Bauer.
Besides her father, Fred, Sheri was predeceased by her husband, John Rowe and a brother, Tommy Jude in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. followed by a funeral service Thursday morning at 11 a.m. and a reception, all in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery. Fr. Leo Boone officiating.
As an expression of sympathy for Sheri, memorial donations in her memory may be made to Palliative Care.
