Passed away at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s on October 20, 2012, Samantha Lomond (Durnford) of Francois at the age of 26 years. Leaving to mourn with precious memories her husband Wilson; daughter Dakota; parents: Bud and Bonny; brothers: Brandon and David; sister Kayla (Robert); grandmothers: Kathleen Courtney and Annie Durnford; parents-in-law: Rita and Howard Lomond; sisters-in-law: Michelle (Jonny) and Darlene (Stanley); brother-in-law Almon; nieces: Maddison and Olivia and nephew Carter, along with a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her grandfathers Gerald Courtney and Esau Durnford and uncle Barry Durnford. Visitation was held at the family residence in Francois on Monday evening and Tuesday. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 24 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Simon and St. Jude Anglican Church in Francois with Rev. Maryrose Colbourne officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
