Edith Walker
WALKER, EDITH OLGA - Edith O. Walker of Meductic, NB passed away October 29, 2012 at Upper River Valley Hospital. Born at Southampton, NB in 1924, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Beulah (Dore) Fox. Edith enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting, sharing gifts of crocheted dollies to many people. She was Postmistress in Meductic for many years and also clerked at Cummings Store. Edith is survived by a daughter, Joan Anderson (Merlyn), Debec, NB; three sons, Jack Walker (Pauline) and Ronald Walker (Treva), both of Hanwell, NB and Wayne Walker (Jacqueline), Meductic, NB; ten grandchildren, Karen Anderson (Gordie), Corey Anderson, Jody Anderson (Laurie), Janet Walker, Nancy Lee Walker, Kayla Giesecke (Mike), Cindy Carpenter (Greg), Blake Walker (Beth), Jennifer Mazerolle (Mike) and Misty Chisholm; three step-grandchildren, Susan Nicholson (Mark), Cathy Calhoun (Dave) and Jim McCloskey (Cindy); sixteen great grandchildren, Jeremy, Tori, Chloe, Alexa, Tristan, Jesse, Katie, David, Alexander, Brennan, Macean, Libby, Emma, Savanna, Matthew and Olivia; two sisters, Kay McGuire, Nackawic, NB and Audrey McGuire (Donald), Fredericton, NB; a brother, Merlin Fox (Eunice), Nackawic, NB; three sisters-in-law, Annie Walker, Fredericton, NB, Lena Walker, Sussex, NB and Velma Walker, Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George M. Walker; four sisters, Enid Strong, Muriel Gordon, Joyce Hues and Joan MacDonald-Hicks; a brother, Medley Fox; two grandsons, Randy Merlyn Anderson and David George Walker.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Hone, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Charles Yerxa officiating. Interment at Otis Cemetery. A reception will then follow at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Corey Anderson, Jody Anderson, Blake Walker, Greg Carpenter, Mike Mazerolle and David Giesecke. Honorary pallbearers will be Janet Walker, Nancy Walker, Mike Giesecke, Karen Anderson, Jennifer Mazerolle, Cindy Carpenter and Kayla Giesecke. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Edith’s caregivers, Marjorie Dow, Frances Briggs, Sharon Kennedy, Lisa Weaver and Bonnie Weaver, who made it possible for her to remain in her own home.
