William Garfield
GARFIELD, WILLIAM MAYES - On Sunday, October 28, 2012, William Mayes Garfield Sr. passed away with his family by his side. Born in Saint John in 1928, he was the son of the late William and Florence (Archibald) Garfield. Bill worked at Irving Pulp and Paper for 35 years in the yard crew. After his retirement, he seemed to find a sense of peace that mellowed him. He loved to get out for a nice meal, attended lots of country and western shows and especially enjoyed a good game of cards with family and friends, often times at the summer home in Maquapit Lake. Bill’s vehicles were his pride and joy and he spent countless hours keeping them in pristine repair. Bill is survived by his son William (Sheri) Garfield Jr.; granddaughters Kristin and Jaylee; special friend for 20 years, Marguerite Garfield; sisters Constance (Russel) Floyd, Gail Fisher, June Garfield, Faye (Jack) Garnett; as well as, several nieces and nephews.
