Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, with his children by his side, of James Leslie McCarthy of Brockton, age 92 years. Beloved husband of the late Marion (nee McLellan) McCarthy, who predeceased him in 2008. Born at Brockton on July 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Eugene and Angelina (nee O’Meara) McCarthy. Lovingly remembered by his children: Coleen (Grant) O'Halloran of Brockton; James (Linda) of Brockton; Gary (Eileen) of Brockton; and Phalen (Twila) of Alberton. Dear grandfather to Jason, Scott, and Christine O'Halloran, Patti, Robert, Jennifer, and Andrew McCarthy, Brock, Jade, and Shealee McCarthy. Dear brother to Louis McCarthy of Brockton, Mary Butler of Glengarry, Jack (Helen) McCarthy of Charlottetown, and Margaret Coffin of Montreal. He was predeceased by brothers, Gerrard and Charles, and by a sister Georgie Collum. He was also predeceased by Albert Brown, who was raised as a brother. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Friday, Nov. 2, from St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, Burton, Lot 7, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Michael Painchaud, celebrant.
