MOUREEN LITTOT (OWEN)
May 11, 1950 ~ October 12, 2012
Moureen Littot (nee Owen) passed away in the loving arms of her family in Vétrigne, France where she ministered with her husband, Jean-Marie.
Moureen was born in Quesnel and lived in Williams Lake until she moved to Gibsons in 1956 at the age of four. She loved the outdoors where she had adventures with her many friends. She excelled in both school and sports and learned to love God at home, in Sunday School, and at Calvary Baptist Church. She graduated from Caronport High School in Saskatchewan and later took courses at Simon Fraser University.
After a six-month missions trip to Ivory Coast, Moureen stopped off for a short language course in France and stayed for life with only a brief stint back in Canada where she taught French at both Pender Harbour Secondary School and Simon Fraser University before returning to France to marry Jean-Marie. Together they planted a church and began a Bible school.
When Moureen learned that she had caner, she flung herself into a renewed sense of the call of God on her life, and in typical Moureen fashion, she made a large impact on those both near and far. She was particularly happy to be present at the double wedding of her oldest and youngest in July.
Moureen was predeceased by her father George. She is survived by her husband Jean-Marie Littot; her mother Kay Owen; her sister Audrey; her brother Stan (Mary); her children Bartélemy (Marina), Johanna (Pierre Exbrayat), Thadée and Jécolia (Ben Riondet); her grandson Wesley; nieces and nephews Emily (Matt Barber), Sean (Naomi), Nathan and Lisa; grandnieces and grandnephews Jacob Webb, Myah, Mikayla, Carson, Owen and Talia Barber, and Millicent and Faith Owen; and her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Moureen’s family thanks God for her life, and although they already miss her, they look forward to seeing her in heaven.
There will be a celebration of Moureen’s life at Calvary Baptist Church on November 10 at 2:30 p.m.
