Joan was born in Ireland on April 24, 1924 and left us on October 22, 2012 to join her grandson Brent and husband Duncan.
Lovingly remembered by her children Mary, Jean and Russell; nieces Robyn and Leona; grandchildren Jory, Sam and Paula; siblings Rita and Fred of Ireland; sister-in-law Muriel; many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends in Canada, Ireland, Scotland and Australia.
Joan’s nursing career spanned three continents, ending in Pender Harbour when she met and married Dunc Cameron. Joan’s friends and family were very important, and her front door was always open and welcoming to all.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Sunday, November 4, at the Madeira Park Legion at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Joan’s memory to the Pender Harbour Medical Clinic would be appreciated.
