It is with great sadness that the family of the late Fredrick George Porter announce his sudden passing at his residence on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at the age of 70 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Alfreda of 49 years; son Jeff (Rosemary); daughter Tina (Brad) Saint; beloved grandchildren: Justine, Colin, Curtis, and sister Lorraine (Brone) Mifflin, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Beatrice Porter (nee Churchill), sister Jean Hardy (nee Porter), and granddaughter Natasha Sarah Saint. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from the Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. Cremation to take place and interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice. Fredrick has a 32 year career with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, St. Johns, N.L. He also was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
