It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father and grandfather on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Cape St. George, Newfoundland he was the son of the late Joseph and Philemina (Madore) Lemoine.
As a young boy, he directed planes in Newfoundland, he moved to Cape Breton in 1984. He was a pulp cutter by trade and worked with many companies, Harry Huntington, Kenneth Phillips and his sons, Donnie MacLeod and Gordon MacVicar. He was a quiet man and enjoyed the outdoors, ice fishing, hunting and checking his snares.
Allan is survived by his loving daughter, Cathy Briand (Lorne Bonnar); his precious granddaughters, Alyssa, Jenna and Chloe, Lorne’s daughters, Hailey and Samantha Bonnar. He is also survived by his companion, Elaine Clyke; sister, Muriel Chaisson, Mainland, Newfoundland; his good friends, Ray, Curtis and Danny Barter and Ann Lamson. Allan will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, especially niece, Joni Lamson.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by several siblings, nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with reception to follow. Interment will be held Monday, Nov.12, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
