GAUDET, GÉRALD - Gérald J. Gaudet, 66, of Grand-Barachois, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont University Centre on Friday, November 16, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Born on December 17, 1945, in Grand-Barachois, he was the son of the late Jude and Ansonine (Gratton) Gaudet. Before his retirement, he was employed with the CNR payroll department, Main Street, Moncton for 35 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Caroline “Carrie” (Power); two daughters: Denise McMackin (Jeff) of Enfield, NS and Rachelle Stephenson (Chris) of Pointe-Claire, QC; a son, Gérald (Karen) of Dieppe; one sister, Yvette Brun (Léon) of Grand-Barachois; two brothers: Maurice (Nancy Doiron) of Dieppe and Marc (Jeanine) of Cap-Pelé; sister in-law, Lucille Gaudet of Grand-Barachois; six grandchildren: Olivia, Robyn, Kayla, Amelia, Corey and Michael; two special family friends: Denis Leger of Grand-Barachois and Lina LeBlanc of Cap-Pelé, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Scott and a brother, Georges.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Center, 396, Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours Tuesday, November 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri R.C. Church, Barachois, on Wednesday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m. In memory of Gérald, donations to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation (Oncology) or St-Henri R.C. cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
