It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Lydia Penney (nee Whalen) , age 84, from Hickman's Harbour at the Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista, on November 5, 2012. Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Mary Louise (Critch) Whalen; brothers, Alec and Charlie; sisters, Mildred and Irene; son-in-law, Martin Locke and sister-in- law, Mary Bailey. Leaving to mourn after 63 wonderful years together, her precious and loving husband, Reginald; daughter, Julia; brother, Morley (Betty); grandchildren, Sherry, Shawn (Heather); great grandchildren, Jessica, Anthony, Andrew, Shawna; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Vera Abbott, took place on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the United Church, Hickman's Harbour, with interment following.
