PENNEY, Phyllis Ruth Margaret – 91, of Halifax, formerly of Yarmouth, passed away on November 15, 2012 in Northwood Terrace, Halifax. Born in 1921, she was a daughter of the late Effie and John Vickery. Phyllis was formerly employed at Hood’s Jewellery and Sears in Yarmouth. She is survived by a son, Lyndon (Marsha), Yarmouth; daughter, Heather (Tom Wood), Halifax; sisters, June Murphy, Yarmouth; Carol McCormack, Hebron; grandsons, Douglas Penney, Ottawa; David Moore, Halifax and Sean Penney, Yarmouth; granddaughter, Alexandra Wood, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Madison Penney, Ottawa. She was predeceased by her husband, Arden Penney; sisters, Olive Seeley, Yarmouth; Jean Hurley, Toronto; Ruby Rolfe, Edmonton; Marie Downton, Brampton, Ontario; brother, Willard Vickery, Maramichi, New Brunswick. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes Ltd., 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. There was no visitation or funeral service according to Phyllis’ wishes. An interment will be held in Mountain Cemetery, Yarmouth. Donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to a charity of ones choice.
