SWALLOW, KENNETH FRANKLIN - It was with sadness the family of Kenneth “Joe” Franklin Swallow announces his death at the Veteran’s Health Unit in Fredericton, New Brunswick on November 27, 2012. He was 96 years old. Ken was predeceased by his wife, Grace; his sisters, Dorothy and Helen; brother, Robert; son in law, Eddie Dobson and grandchild Michael Dobson. He is survived by his only child, Gloria Dobson; grandson, Larry Dobson; great grandchildren, Matthew Fugard, Dana Skinner and Taylor Dobson as well as his great great grandchild, Cassius Alston. Ken was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #93, often found there enjoying a game of darts, cribbage or shuffleboard. He also enjoyed watching the Red Sox on television. Ken had served with the Canadian Forces during WWII until he was injured in service.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, November 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with a legion tribute being held at 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jane Johnson officiating. Interment will take place at Wallace River, Nova Scotia in the spring.
