Funeral
"Carol Murrant"
The largely attended funeral for the late Carol Murrant, Port Morien, was held from Patten Funeral Chapel, Glace Bay, on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 with Reverend Ron Coole, Sydney Pentecostal Church, officiating. Soloist and first cousin, Ray Holland, accompanied by organist, Steve MacNeil, sang mom’s favourite hymns, “Nearer My God to Thee” and “In the Garden”. Reverend Coole led the congregational hymn, “Rock of Ages”. A beautiful and fitting eulogy, which has become a treasured family keepsake, was written and read by mom’s sister-in-law, Blanche Murrant. Pallbearers were Allan Cameron, grandson, Jackie Nicholson, Glen Nicholson, and Bob Parsons, nephews, Christopher Morgan, grandnephew, and Ronnie Royal, family friend. Burial took place in Black Brook Cemetery, Port Morien.

We, the family of the late Carol Murrant, Port Morien, wish to extend our deepest gratitude to our many relatives, friends, and neighbours for the caring and support you have given us in the loss of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Heartfelt thanks to all of you for your phone calls, visits, gifts of food, floral tributes, sympathy cards, memorial donations, on-line condolences, attendance at the wake and funeral, prayers, hugs, and fond memories. All you have done was wonderful and greatly appreciated. Thank you to Reverend Ron Coole, Sydney Pentecostal Church and Lieutenants Joshua and Joyce Dewar, Glace Bay Salvation Army Citadel for your kindness and support to our family. Thank you to Ray Holland and Steve MacNeil for your beautiful music, and Jackie Nicholson, Glen Nicholson, Bob Parsons, Christopher Morgan, and Ronnie Royal, for being mom’s pallbearers. Thanks also to Colleen Morgan, Blanche Murrant, Sandra Murrant, and Linda Murrant for all you’ve done for us. To Dr. Mark Ellerker and the girls in his office, Glace Bay General Hospital staff, and the Homecare girls who were all so good to mom, thank you. Sincere thanks to the management and staff of Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay, for your professional and dignified service. To all of you, we’ll cherish your kindness always.
