Lieu de naissance : Pakan, Alberta
Date de naissance : 4 novembre 1934
Date de décès : 25 octobre 2012
It is with sadness that we announce that Mr. Luke Pawliuk passed away on October 25, 2012 at 77 years of age.
Dad was a proud family man. He is survived by his children George (Tina), Tanya (Michal), Karla (Russ), and Nick (Tanya), and grandchildren Sarah, Colleen, Lida, Elizabeth and Olivia, who will miss him dearly. His close friends, Valerie and Doug, will miss his company and stories. He is also survived by his younger sister Mary and family, of Edmonton, as well as a niece Rhonda and family of St. John.
Dad was predeceased by his father Peter (1965) and mother Pearl (1985) of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as his elder brother Bill (1962), and only nephew Darren (1983).
Dad was born in Pakan, AB, on November 4, 1934. He grew up near Andrew, AB on the family farm, moving into town during his school years. After completing his schooling, Dad tried his hand at several jobs before settling in to work for the CNR, a career which would last the next 38 years.
Dad worked in various locations (Edmonton, Jasper, Prince Rupert, Vancouver Island) before settling in Kamloops in 1967. During his 'travelling years' dad made many friendships that lasted his lifetime.
Dad's passions changed over the years, however, he always enjoyed a family gathering, good meal, and active political discussion. Dad loved to golf, and later in life, following tours on TV. He played a mean hand of bridge, and was always there to add advice for a building project. His greatest joy came from time spent with his granddaughters and great nieces who brought him endless hours of pleasure.
By request there will be no formal service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Children's Hospital, 4480 Oak Street, Vancouver, B.C., V6H 3V4 in memory of Dad.
