GALLANT, GERALD J. - 1940 - 2012 - Miramichi - Gerald Joseph Gallant, husband of Marilyn Gallant, of Air Force Crescent, Miramichi, passed away at his residence, on Thursday, November 29, 2012, following a lengthy illness, at the age of 72. Born in Chatham, on June 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Leo and Celeste (Mazerolle) Gallant. Prior to retirement, he was the owner / operator of the Chatham Atlantic Superstore. He attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn O’Neill; two daughters, Kim Furlotte (Denis), of Montreal and Kari Lynne Gallant (Jamie Petrie), of Miramichi; three sons, Andrew (Susan), of St. Stephen, Gary (Connie), of Moncton and Garth (Christine), of Mallorytown, Ont.; two sisters, Gertrude Nowlan (Michael), of Oromocto and Clara Gallant (Blaine Farrah), of Miramichi; nine grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
By his request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The public are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Monday,
December 3, 2012, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Miramichi. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors’ choice, would be appreciated by the family.
