Date de décès : 25 novembre 2012
As time passes, we all lose a loved one dear to us. We have lost our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Marguerite (Harding) Brown, on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at the age of 79, after a brief illness.
Born on May 10, 1933, she was the oldest daughter of the late Charles and Rachael (Simms) Harding. She was a member of Carman United Church, Sydney Mines.
Marguerite’s favourite pastime was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. First Danielle, Katie and Alex in Sydney Mines, watching them grow up, taking in lots of activities, and the most enjoyed of all - shopping trips. In later years, enjoying tea with her girls. In more recent years, Nanny spent time cheering on her favourite East Hants Penguins Minor hockey player, Alexander, watching games and attending tournaments when she visited. Nan was also very proud watching Jaclyn’s love for swimming, and hearing about her dance routines. They also enjoyed playing many traditional games together like Tic-Tac-Toe and Trouble.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Rachael, Enfield; son, Robert, Sydney Mines and son-in-law, William (Bicky) Cantwell, Sydney Mines. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, who were the absolute joy in her life, Danielle Cantwell, Sydney Mines, Alexsandra Cantwell and Kaitlyn Cantwell, both in Grand Prairie, Alta., along with Alexander and Jaclyn LeBlanc, Enfield, N.S. Marguerite is also survived by her sister, Blanche, Dingwall, N.S., along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Marguerite was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred; daughter, Darlene; son, Doug; sisters, Laurarella and Geraldine and brothers, John and Edward.
Visitation for Marguerite Brown will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Nick Phillips officiating.
