
Harold Jonah
JONAH, HAROLD BAXTER - 1923 - 2012 - Harold Baxter Jonah, 88, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of Weldon passed away peacefully on December 2nd, 2012 at the home after spending the day with his family. Harold was born in Weldon on December 29th, 1923 the son of the late Alfred and Frances (Mollins) Jonah. He attended the Hillsborough Baptist Church. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Canadian Gypsum Company and also became Foreman of the Quarry in Hillsborough until his retirement. He was also a farmer and loved his animals. He was a family man who took great pride in his family. He will be remembered as a kind man who had a great sense of humour. He loved to laugh and tell stories. He has definitely left his family with many fond memories living on the farm. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard but always near." He will be deeply missed by his devoted and caring wife, Aletha (Irving) Jonah of Hillsborough; daughters, Sharon Steeves (Eric) of Hillsborough, Vicki Lane (Pat Eaton) of Hillsborough, Isabella Cormier (Gary) of Moncton; sons, Laurie Jonah (Joanne) of BC, Leonard Jonah (Sandy) of Hillsborough, Edward Jonah (Marsha) of Hillsborough and Paul Jonah (Dennis Fair) of Toronto, ON; his precious 15 grandchildren and treasured six great grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Lutes of Kenneth Spencer's Memorial Home. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Boyd Jonah.
The family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9pm for a time of sharing memories. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Harold's life will be held at the Hillsborough Baptist Church on Thursday, December 6th, 2012 at 2:00pm with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating and Rev. Tim Johnson assisting. Following the service the family will be meeting for further fellowship and for refreshments in the Family Life Center at the church. Interment will be in the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB at a later date. Family flowers only please donations to the Alzheimer's Society, Forest Dale Home or to the charity of donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
