Fred Warnock

WARNOCK, FRED - Fred Warnock passed on November 14, 2012 at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg, Ontario. Born September 20, 1926 in Verdun, Quebec, he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Warnock who emigrated from Glasgow Scotland. Fred was one of nine children, the first to be born in Canada. He was a long term member of the Canadian Army Lord Strathcona Horse Royal Canadian, serving overseas in Korea and Egypt, and was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. His last posting was to CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick, followed by his retirement to Fredericton, New Brunswick until May 2012. He is lovingly remembered by Kathleen McFarlane, his partner of ten years, his sister Violet of Surrey, BC, his step-children Gary Hare (Judy), Lynn Thompson (Al) and son David Warnock (Kerry), all of British Columbia, as well as five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A Memorial Service was held on November 20, 2012 in Port Hope, Ontario at the Allison Funeral Home, with interment to take place at a later date in British Columbia. For those who wish to, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Red Cross, or the charity of your choice.
